Congratulations to Lance Henri and Kenny Bastienne!

After a few days of intense campaigning by candidates, and some self-appointed campaign teams, on Thursday 15 March 2018 SBSA held its first election to appoint a Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson for the Student Council. Standing up for the position of Chairperson were Jean-Claude Solin, Darius Padayachy and Lance Henri and for the position of Vice-Chairperson were Ellis Chang-Pen-Tive and Kenny Bastienne.

All candidates were excellent orators and presented their case with lots of conviction. They showed deep insight into what the posts entail and what would be expected of them and demonstrated some excellent presentation and communication skills.

All 5 candidates brought some excellent arguments as to why they should be voted into the positions, ideas which we expect the Council to take on-board and implement as, despite not having been elected as Chairperson or Vice-Chairperson, all are still members of the 2018 Student Council.

The culmination of an exciting afternoon saw Lance Henri winning most votes and appointed as the Council Chairperson and his counterpart as Vice-Chairperson is Kenny Bastienne.
